Board and branch office
The Board plans and coordinates the activities of the Society. It sets up the budget, prepares Members' Meetings and takes care of individual questions of fundamental importance, if they are not reserved for the Members' Meeting or the Entirety of the Members.
The Board consists of the president, six other Board members elected by the Entirety of Members of the Society for a four-year term and up to two members, who can be additionally elected by the Board, as well as two vice-presidents, the treasurer and the editor of the Allgemeines Statistisches Archiv. The treasurer and the editor are appointed by the remaining Board. By means of these regulations, an appropriate representation of all important fields is made possible.
A re-election to the president as well as a re-election as a further member of the Board are possible only once.
The President conducts the matters of the Society and represents them to the outside. He prepares the Board meetings, chairs the Members' Meetings and keeps members informed by newsletters. He is assisted by a branch office of the Society, which is located at the office of the respective president. The branch office manager is appointed by the Board at the president's proposal.
