In spring time a methodology orientated conference, the Whitsun Meeting, takes place. It is organised by the Sections for Recent Statistical Methods, Empirical Economics and Applied Econometrics, Statistics in Natural Science and Technology, and Methodology of Statistical Surveys. Also the Section Stochastics of the German Association of Mathematicians contributes to the Whitsun Meeting.
The two-day event will take place basically in the week after Whitsun; Meeting place is usually a German university. The meeting is traditionally organized by the chair for statistics at the respective university. About 100 people are participating at the Whitsun Meeting because of the special focus of the meeting. There are around 30 to 40 scientific papers presented and discussed including both theoretical and empirical orientated.
